My current work at the School of Global Studies focuses on the research project “Global Economic Restructuring in El Salvador: Women’s Voices and Agency Facing Maquila Work and Migrant Remittances” as well as teaching in the areas of Latin American Studies, development cooperation, gender and globalization. Since 2006, I have, together with some colleagues, written several reports, commissioned by the Swedish Armed Forces, analyzing the current and future development in Latin America related to conflicts, security and regional cooperation. I am also a member of the Sida Gender Helpdesk coordinated by the Centre for Global Gender Studies at SGS.

During 2008-2009 I worked as case officer at the Administrative Procedure Unit of Migrationsverket in Gothenburg, my work focused on preparing decision documents based on country studies and individual cases, the regional focus was mainly on Afghanistan, Iraq and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In 2005-2006, I was a team member of the evaluation by Högskoleverket of the educations in political science, peace, conflict and development.
During 2006-2008, I worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Iberoamerican Studies, Gothenburg University. The work focused on a research project on women and global economic restructuring in El Salvador, seminar studies in gender and globalization, co-authoring reports on the current and future development in Latin America commissioned by the Swedish Armed Forces, editorial work on Anales vol 9/10 as well as teaching Latin American Studies focusing on economic history, economic policy and political movements.
Desk Officer and economist at Sida, Stockholm (1997-2001); I worked as country manager for Angola, Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde at the Department for Africa. During this period I was also project leader for the country strategy of Angola and a member of Sida’s Development Council (Utvecklingsråd). Later I was the country manager for Guatemala at the Latin America Department and responsible for the cooperation with the Interamerican Development Bank as well as methodological issues. I was also a member of the Method Group and during a period chairman of the country strategy monitoring team.
Research assistant at the Department of Economics, Göteborg University (1993-1997) collaborating in monitoring macroeconomic development and structural adjustment programs in Angola, Guinea-Bissau and Nicaragua in a cooperation between Sida and the Department. This work included project administration, yearly field visits and written reports.
