Martin is working on a thesis that tries to analyse the prerequisites of more environmentally sound consumer decisions in the car market. An interdisciplinary approach is utilised focusing on the interplay between consumer preference, economic incentives and policy issues that are important when understanding the market for new cars. The research is partly financed by MISTRA in the TransportMistra project that ran from 2005 to 2008.
Martin has experience in teaching human ecology at undergraduate levels and since 2008 he has also been advisor for both graduate and undergraduate students in the Case Study Course for Sustainable Development which is given every spring term as a collaboration between several departments at GU and Chalmers.
