Areas of interest

Democratisation processes in East Africa, local democracy, rural development, peace, security and development. My area of research has been to study the possibilities and constraints of consolidating multiparty democracy in Tanzania. The research was conducted in northern Tanzania between 1997-2002 with focus on the local communities and their perceptions about the political change towards multiparty system, leadership and democracy in Tanzania.
