Nationalism and identity, in particular the construction of Palestinian national identity; potentials for democratisation of Palestinian politics; conflict resolution, potentials for regionalisation in the Middle East; the Palestinian diaspora; globalisation processes and the ways in which they have an effect upon cultural identities.
