Gunilla Blomqvist works as project coordinator and teacher at the School of Global Studies. In addition she works as international election observer for the EU and the OSCE.
Issues related to work conditions, division of labour, gender ideologies, democratisation and globalisation. The PhD project examined ideologies and discourses of gender segregation within the garment export industry and construction industry in India, Tamil Nadu. Field work was carried out in Chennai during 1999-2001 and the project was funded by Sarec.
Gunilla Blomqvist has, together with a group of researchers, recently started a research cooperation on industrial homework in Sweden, India and Malaysia. The title of the project is: “Outsourcing industrial production to the informal economy: Gender and industrial homework through time and space.”
Primarily on the undergraduate level in Global Development Studies and Gender Issues, for example as course responsible for ”Global gender issues”, 30 HEC, and as a teacher in ”Project management and evaluation”, 15 HEC.
